DETROIT –Chevrolet introduced the production 2010 Camaro today. It is a heritage-inspired sports car for the 21 st century, combining great looks and performance; advanced technology and surprising efficiency – including 26-mpg estimated highway fuel economy. Sales begin in the first quarter of 2009.

Built on GM’s new, global rear-wheel-drive architecture, the Camaro is offered in V-6-powered LS and LT models, as well as the V-8-powered SS. All models and powertrain combinations include fuel-saving six-speed transmissions.

A new, more efficient version of the 2.2L Ecotec engine delivers a dramatic increase in fuel economy for the 2009 Pontiac G5. The 2.2L engine uses variable valve timing to optimize fuel economy at all speeds, for an EPA-estimated highway rating of 37 mpg. It also brings a slight horsepower increase.

“With the new 2.2L engine, the 2009 G5 is a great-looking, low-priced coupe that delivers fuel economy that pushes it to the top of its segment,” said Susan Docherty, vice president of Buick-Pontiac-GMC. “It is an uncompromising choice for customers who want style, convenience and great mileage at an affordable price.”

Introduced for the ’08 model year, the G8 lineup’s performance range expands in 2009 with the track-tuned GXP model. Motivated by a 6.2L LS3 V-8 that makes more than 400 horsepower.

As the G8 joined Pontiac’s lineup midway through the ’08 model year, changes across the lineup are few but bring more standard technology to the table. They include XM Satellite Radio and Bluetooth capability on all models. Available later in the model year, Bluetooth capability is intergrated into the G8’s standard OnStar system,enabling hands-free phone calls for safer, more convenient connections.

NEW YORK – Today Pontiac announced the flagship of its GXP performance series, the G8 GXP high-performance sedan, at the New York Auto Show. This 2009 model will join the Solstice, G6 and Torrent GXP models in Pontiac dealerships in late 2008. The G8 GXP takes the G8's responsive driving experience, refined passenger environment and aggressive good looks to a new level. “The CTS Coupe Concept is a dramatic design statement,” said Ed Welburn, VP, GM Global Design. “We did not create it as the result of sifting through reams of market data, nor is its shape trimmed to suit the input collected at a consumer clinic – it is emotion on four wheels and the very essence of what defines Cadillac today.”

The CTS Coupe Concept has a classic 2+2 interior layout, highlighted by black leather and microfiber trim that is complemented by yellow ochre-colored seat inserts and leather stitching. It is designed to accommodate a range of engines for the global luxury market, including Cadillac’s popular 3.6L Direct Injection V-6, as well as a new 2.9L turbo-diesel currently in development.
